Raymond Dotts Obituary, Death Cause – Raymond Richard Dotts, who was 88 years old when he passed away, did so without suffering on May 7, 2023 at his home in Madison, Connecticut, in the company of his devoted family. His devoted wife of 66 years, Mary Augsburger Dotts, as well as his four daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, will carry on his legacy after his passing. Mary Jane Stump, who was his sister, passed away before he did.
Raymond Horace Dotts was born on June 18, 1934 in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. His parents, Horace and Margaret Dotts, passed away prior to his birth. His education began at Quakertown High School, continued at Berean Bible School, and culminated with a degree from Muhlenberg College. He attended Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville for his Master of Business Administration degree.
He was a preacher in the Bible Fellowship Church denomination and worked in a variety of capacities after receiving his ordination. He was a major member of the board at the Pinebrook Educational Foundation from the time it was established, and he held the position of Chairman of the Board for a period of 24 years. He was one of the original founders of the organization.
In addition to his work as a school mentor for 24 years, Raymond spent 23 of those years serving as the Financial Officer at Delaware Technical and Community College. During his 45 years of service at the Camden Bible Fellowship Church, he was instrumental in the church’s founding, served as an interim pastor, and was a member of the Board of Elders. In addition to delivering jokes, Raymond’s hobbies and interests included woodworking, gardening, chopping firewood, perusing flea markets, and practicing his “black belt” in grocery shopping.
Raymond was a committed follower of the Lord, and he and his wife, Mary, spent their entire lives serving the Lord and sharing the gospel that he preached. He imparted knowledge, exercised leadership, and set a model for others to follow by exemplifying the enduring grace and love of God. Funeral services will be place on Friday, May 12 at the Grace Bible Fellowship Church located in Quakertown, Pennsylvania at 1811 Old Bethlehem Pike.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am on the day of the funeral, followed by the service at 11:00 am, and then interment will take place at the Quakertown Union Cemetery. After the service, there will be a luncheon reception held at the Grace Bible Fellowship Church. Donations to the Pinebrook Educational Foundation should be addressed to Dr. Andrew T. Crossgrove at the following address: 140 Harleysville Pike, Harleysville, Pennsylvania 19438. The family requests that these be sent in place of flowers.
