Shirley Austin Obituary, Death Cause – We are all going to miss Shirley Austin so much, and because of that, we are all passing on the news that she passed away on Saturday with heavy hearts. She has been “Promoted to Glory,” which is an old phrase used in the Salvation Army to allude to the concept of a life that has been lived to its full potential and a person who is now enjoying their eternal rest.

She has been “Promoted to Glory.” Shirley has not been able to attend our location for some time owing to health difficulties; yet, she has continued to be a treasured part of our community, and many people who are tied to our church in some manner remember her with love and affection.
Shirley’s absence has been felt by many. Shirley was the kind of person who took great pride in lending a helping hand to others around her and being by their side whenever they needed it. She accomplished things such as drive a huge number of people to and from church activities over a period of years, be a part of a small group, offer assistance for the Home League, travel to Zambia with a group from our church, and always be fast with a witty remark or a hearty laugh.
She also was always quick with a smile and a hearty laugh. We have missed having Shirley here, and now that she is gone, we will continue to miss having her around even more than we did before she left. During this trying time, we ask that you keep her immediate family and close friends in your thoughts and prayers. Even though we are saddened by her passing, we will never forget the life she led and will always honor the legacy she leaves behind.
