Connie Streck Obituary, Death Cause – Connie Streck, who was 73 years old when she died on May 8th, went away, and it is with a heavy heart that we share the news of her passing with you. Connie’s parents, George and Marian Freeman Barden, welcomed her into the world on April 17, 1950 in Waverly, New York. She went to Notre Dame after growing up in Barton, New York, and going to school there.
She eventually tied the knot with the man she had loved her entire life, Harry Streck. They have a large number of nieces and nephews, most of whom they have raised as their own children over the course of their lives.
Throughout her entire life, Connie was well-known for her generous nature and pleasant demeanor. She was always willing to go out of her way to assist other people, whether it was in the form of putting on events, distributing candy, or simply lending an attentive ear.
Her kindness and compassion left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. Cooking was one of Connie’s many talents, and her baked bean dish was particularly well-liked by everyone who tried it. She organized many banquets in addition to being a place where she and her friends enjoyed spending time together bowling. She volunteered her time at a variety of community activities and served on the board of directors of the neighborhood community organization.
She was also quite active in the community. It was one of her most cherished traditions to preside over the Christmas celebrations held at the Barton community club. She would make a large spread of food for her family and friends, and she would always make sure that each child received a present. She would also make sure that everyone had a good time. She cherished the time she could spend with her loved ones and friends.
Her parents and two of her brothers, James “Jim” Barden and Clifford Harrower, passed away before she did. Her sister, Phyllis (Leroy) Surber, her brothers-in-law, Richard Streck of Virginia and Charles Streck of California, her sister-in-law, Ann Marie Streck of Canton, Pennsylvania, and a number of nieces and nephews are among those who are able to carry on her legacy.
During Connie’s dying days, the caring care provided by the team at Guthrie, including doctors, nurses, and other hospital employees, was greatly appreciated by her family. Everyone who knew and loved Connie will grieve her passing in a profound way. On Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, friends and family are invited to call at the Blauvelt Funeral Home, which is located at 625 Broad Street in Waverly, New York.
On the morning of Friday, May 12, 2023 at 10:00 AM, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James Church located at 503 Clark Street in Waverly, New York. The Reverend Jeffrey Galens will preside over the service, and the burial will take place at Barton Cemetery in Barton, New York.
