Matthew S. Ciccolini Obituary, Death Cause – Terrible News… Rest in Peace… Class of 1984 Graduate of Grand Rapids High School, Matthew S. Ciccolini Matthew S. Ciccolini was born in 1966 and died in 2023. Matthew was born on July 22nd, 1966, and he passed away on May 5th, 2023, at the age of 56 Mr. Matthew S. Ciccolini, a devoted husband, father, brother, and son, passed away quietly on May 5, 2023 at the Holy Name Hospice in Teaneck, New Jersey. He was there with his family.
He had 56 years under his belt and was cherished by all of his relatives, close friends, and the entire Verona community. On Monday, May 8 from 4 to 7 pm, there will be a Visitation held at the Prout Funeral Home, which is located at 370 Bloomfield Avenue in Verona. A Service will then take place at 7 pm. Although he was born in Newark, he spent his childhood in Glen Ridge and made the move to Verona when he was 25 years old.
In 1984, he received his diploma from Glen Ridge High School, and in Saint Augustine, Florida, at Flagler College, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Recreation. His primary employer throughout his career was Ciccolini Brothers in Nutley, where he worked in the Logistical Sales department. Additionally, he worked for the City of Verona’s Recreation Department as well as the Lakeside Deli in Verona.
Both the Verona Baseball League and the Verona Barnstormers had him as a coach at one point or another. His devotion for the New York Giants, the New York Mets, and the New York Rangers was unrivalled given his passion for sports in general. Matthew was never at a loss for words when it came to providing a quick sports statistic or a piece of baseball memorabilia.
Matthew is survived by his wife, Donna (née Ambrose) Ciccolini; his sons, Joseph Peter Ciccolini and Nicholas Matthew Ciccolini; his brothers, Joseph Ciccolini and Bart Ciccolini (Michelle McCarthy); his sister-in-law, Diana Ambrose; his nephew Thomas and his niece Mary; and his brother-in-law, Bart Ciccolini (Michelle McCarthy).
His grandparents, Joseph and Janet Ciccolini, as well as his nephew, William Kevin Ciccolini, all passed away before he was born. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be sent to the GoFundMe page that has been set up for them. Any amount will be gratefully accepted.
