John Brooks Obituary, Death Cause – Vale Brooks, John We are writing to tell the members and supporters of the Houghton Districts Football Club of the passing of John Brooks, who was the founder of our wonderful club, a former President and Coach, and a long-serving volunteer. It is with heavy hearts and profound grief that we are making this announcement.
To Brooksy’s family and friends, please accept our deepest condolences during this difficult time. The influence that Brooksy had on our club cannot be overstated in any way. Because of him, our Club is where it is right now, and his legacy will go on in perpetuity as an acknowledgment of the fact that he was both our organization’s creator and its most dedicated volunteer.
This next weekend, arm bands of a dark color will be worn by all Junior and Senior teams. We would also like to extend an invitation to all of our members and supporters to join us in observing a moment of quiet at Mawson Lakes Oval tomorrow at approximately 2:10 p.m. prior to the start of the A Grade match.
The Club will make every effort to give information regarding the arrangements for Brooksy’s funeral as well as a suitable moment for members to gather and commemorate him. John Brooks, may you rest in peace and we are grateful to have known you. Never forgotten. Melanie Keetch is the current President of the Houghton Districts Football Club.
