Our father was a wonderful man. He would frequently take our mother on excursions to the north, where they would seek for deer. It was one of his favorite things to do with his pals, especially our uncle Keith. The tales that were shared were incredible to hear. It was always fun for him to go camping with his mom. The ancient 1946 Ford truck and the countless hours that Dad devoted to maintaining and improving the truck were his primary interests.
Dad was a final assembler at Remington Arms Company for 50 years until retiring in 2015. He left the company in 2015. He was in the United States Army for a total of 20 years, serving two years on active duty and eighteen years in the National Guard. He recounted the adventures he had while camping with the National Guard for two weeks every year for the past many years. The military was something that meant a lot to Dad.
His two daughters, Roxanne Hazlett and her husband John, of Little Falls, and Debbie Allen and her husband Mark, of Boca Raton, Florida; his four grandchildren, Randel Hunt, Jr., of Herkimer, Ryan Hunt and Meghan, of Mohawk, and Brooke and Jacqueline Allen, of Florida; his two great-grandchildren, Maci and Marcus Hunt; his two sisters, Phyllis and Edith; a number of nieces and nephews, including a special nephew
His wife, Gail, his parents, his brother, David Parker, and his sister, Betty, as well as his in-laws, Lester and Dorothy Ropeter, all passed away before him.
