Miki Covington Obituary, Death – The shocking and upsetting news that my sister, Miki Covington, had passed away was delivered to me this morning. She was the eldest of our siblings, and she was also the first to depart this world. She was our first sibling to pass away. My entire day has been spent in a condition of mental and physical haze, and I have no recollection of any of it. ALL. DAY.
This is the very first time in my entire life that I have ever experienced my eyes watering. It was a very long time ago when I learned that she was, in fact, my sister because I didn’t find out until I was 21 years old. Imagine that this was about to happen in real life. After all of that, she was my sister, so what more could I possibly say about her? Despite the fact that it is amusing in a spooky “I think she gon’ kill us kinda way,” the laughter is always tinged with a great appreciation for the people who are participating.
I had NO IDEA that the beginning of my day would feature such a surprising experience until it really took place. At all. On the other hand, I began my day on Friday in just that manner. Ugh. She is the second oldest child out of a total of seven children in the family. I ended up coming in third place.
Just 48 years old at this same moment in time. Damnit. Damnit. Always remember to keep your loved ones and close pals near to your heart. This continues to baffle and perplex me beyond all reasonable understanding. I’m still in shock. I am at this very moment supporting her head in the palm of my hand.
