Harriet Watkins Obituary, Death – Harriet Marie Watkins, the daughter of Joshua Edward Jackson and Nellie Marie Kennedy Jackson, was born on Thursday, September 14, 1939 in Weldon, Iowa. She passed away on Monday, February 7, 2011 at the age of 71 at Clarke County Hospital. Her parents were Joshua Edward Jackson and Nellie Marie Kennedy Jackson. Harriet continued her studies at Leon High School up until the age of 15, when her mother became ill and she had to stay home to take care of her.
After that, she continued her education online. Harriet went back to school after the passing of her mother and ultimately earned her diploma from Weldon High School, where she also made the acquaintance of Ronald. Osceola, Iowa was the location of her wedding to Ronald Ellis Watkins on July 4, 1959, and the couple went on to have four children as a result of their union. In her younger years, Harriet was employed at the Arthur Murray Dance School in Des Moines, where she was responsible for teaching ballroom dance.
After getting married to Ron, she spent her time caring for their children while also working as a housewife and co-owner of R & H Auto Sales for more than 35 years. Her hobbies included watercolor painting, pottery, bird watching, gardening, and cultivating flowers and vegetables. She also enjoyed traveling and driving fast. Despite this, she devoted her life to her family, and her grandchildren were the sources of the greatest pride and joy in her life.
