Betty Lansden Obituary, Death – At the age of 91, Betty Jo Lansden, who resided in Madisonville, Kentucky, passed away at her home on Thursday, April 20, 2023. She was the only child of Katherine Irene Alsop Osburn, who passed away, and Randolph “R.T.” Osburn, who was born on September 4, 1931. She once held the position of a teacher and was employed at both Madisonville High School and Earlington High School during her career. Reading and making arts and crafts were two of her favorite activities.

The time she got to spend with her family and her granddogs, Susie, Cash Dollar, and Jax, brought her the most happiness. In the town of Madisonville, Kentucky, Betty was active in the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Buford Lansden; her brother, Randy Wilson Osburn; her brothers-in-law, Lee Roy Burns, Greg Creasey, and Charles Lansden; her sister-in-law, Martine Lansden; and her nephews, Keith and Kevin Harrison. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband; he passed away before she did.

Survivors include her daughters, Beth (Troy) Clark of Nortonville, KY and Bonnie (Tommy) Blanchard of Dawson Springs, KY; son, Tommy (Darlene) Lansden of Madisonville; sisters, Fannie Burns of Kilgore, TX and Bea Creasey of Dawson Springs; grandsons, Shawn Clark, J.T. Blanchard, and Justin Clark; granddaughters, Sarah Blanchard and Tressa (Tyler) Schindley; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including “Uncle Cousin” Jason Creasey. On Monday, April 24, 2023, at twelve o’clock in the afternoon, a funeral ceremony will be performed in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home, with Bro. Billy Parrish serving as the officiant. After the funeral, the burial will take place in the Rose Creek Cemetery in Nebo, Kentucky.
