Stone Mercurio Obituary, Missing Clarkson Student, Help Find Stone Mercurio

Stone Mercurio Obituary, Death – A student from Clarkson University who had been reported missing on Tuesday has been discovered dead. Initial findings from the inquiry conducted by the Potsdam police suggest that Stone Mercurio, age 18, injured himself intentionally. They assert that there are no reasons to be concerned for the safety of the general people. At the time that they reported Mercurio missing, they stated that they suspected he was “in crisis,” although they did not define in what way they meant this.

After Clarkson campus security was asked to check on his well-being, but they were unable to locate him, the request was made to the Potsdam police for assistance in locating him. According to the police, there are support programs available on the campuses of both SUNY Potsdam and Clarkson University to assist students who are coping with any mental health difficulties. We just wanted to remind everyone that there is always someone there to listen to you, even if it seems like there is no one there. According to Potsdam Police Lieutenant Michael Ames, “There is always another step that can be taken, and certainly our student community – we want to encourage them to use those resources available on campus.”

Personnel, specialized services, and pieces of equipment from the New York State Forest Rangers, the state police, the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, and the Clarkson University Safety and Security Department all contributed to the search effort. Because we were in a rural location that contained forests, we decided to contact the forest rangers. According to Sheriff Brooks Bigwarfe, “we had many resources out there looking for this individual. We deployed our drone, and a K9 from the state police was deployed.”
