Bruce Strickler Obituary, Death – On April 20, 2023, Bruce Allen Strickler, who was a resident of Timberville, Virginia, passed away as the result of injuries sustained in a motorbike accident. In Harrisonburg, Virginia, on the 9th of August in 1960, he was born to his parents, Jimmy Strickler and the late Wanda Lawson Reed. In 1978, he received his diploma from Broadway High School.

Bruce was self-employed in the Broadway region, first by owning and operating B&S Automotive in Mayland for a number of years, and later by owning the Broadway-Timberville Mini Storage along with various rental properties. Both of these businesses were located in the Mayland neighborhood. Bruce lived his life at a hundred miles per hour and was completely open to every experience that this world has to offer.

Bruce’s passion for motorcycles spanned his entire life, and he was also a serious follower of motorsports. There was never a driver’s seat that Bruce couldn’t master, whether it was for flat track motorcycle racing, drag racing, sprint car racing, or even the most contemporary funny car racing. In addition to the exhilaration of racing, Bruce was a world-class globetrotter. He had visited six of the world’s seven continents during his lifetime. Bruce was the kind of person who would never meet a stranger and would go out of his way to assist people.

His smile was so bright that it could light up Times Square. For Bruce, nothing was more important than his family. His lifelong girlfriend and best friend, Patty Dove Twisdale, as well as his former wife, Lisa Strickler, with whom he maintained a close friendship, will carry on without him. In addition to his father and stepmother, Jimmy and Mary Strickler of Tenth Legion and stepfather, James Reed of Louisa, he is survived by his beloved siblings, Wyona Kim Miller (“Sissy”) of Harrisonburg, Rhonda Hand and husband, Larry, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Stewart C. Strickler (“S.C.”) and wife, Angie, of Harrisonburg, James Tyson Strickler (“Ty”) of Glendale, CA, along with several nieces and nephews.
