Ashley Scharlotte Obituary, Death – “I am still in shock one of the sweetest caring teachers my child has had,” one commenter said. “She loved her so much. Treated each child as her own. Praying for the family and also all the students.” According to her syllabus on the school website, Streitman grew up in Union County and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She was engaged to her fiancé, who she met in high school, the syllabus says.
She was a Senior at Alvin High School where she was in the National Honor Society and part of the Tunnel Krew. She also attended Alvin Community College where she would be receiving her Associate’s Degree in General Studies in May. She was planning on attending Sam Houston State University in the fall to study Accounting. Ashley was an active member of South Park Baptist Church in Alvin. Ashley had a huge heart and loved deeply. She was driven and committed to whatever she was doing.
She loved hanging out with her friends. She loved playing cards, going to Whataburger and watching Netflix. Ashley’s love of Jesus was felt by all who knew her. She will leave a huge void in our hearts, but as Ashley once wrote in her journal, “In times of trouble all you have to do is pray and with that you can feel God’s presence and it is unbelievable.” Ashley is survived by her parents, Cathy and Tom Hicks; sisters, Allison and Amanda Hicks; brother, Nathan Hicks; grandparents, Alice and Paul Sloan; grandfather, Thomas Hicks III; along with many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Eleanor Hicks. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at South Park Baptist Church in Alvin, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, April 5, 2018, at South Park Baptist Church, 1718 S. Johnson Street, Alvin, Texas 77511.
