Melissa Raby Obituary, Death – Melissa Ann Raby, age 39, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. She was a resident of Philadelphia, Tennessee at the time of her passing. Before Melissa was born, both of her parents, Mary Viar and Jerry “Bull” Viar, had passed away. Mary was Melissa’s mother, and Jerry was her father. She is survived by her husband, Jason Raby; her brothers, Jerry Wayne Viar and Marco Risner; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other members of her extended family.
She also leaves behind a number of friends who were like family to her. At this time, there are no services planned to take place at any of the locations. Lynda Raby (née Slingerland), who passed away on November 26, 2021 at the age of 79 at the Extendicare Kawartha Lakes, was laid to rest there. The loving wife of the late Ross Raby, who was sadly predeceased. devoted mother of Kelly Beckett, Arlene Jones, and Julie Swaine, all of whom are married to their respective spouses Paul, Nick, and Harvey respectively. She is the proud grandmother of Jessica (Joel), Justin (Kaleigh), Jason, and Melissa (Brett), and the great-grandmother of Isabella.
Sincere thanks is extended not just to Dr. Peter Petrosoniak but also to the whole team at Extendicare Kawartha Lakes and Lakeland Village for all of the care that he has offered over the years. A funeral service for the immediate family will be held at a later time, and the burial will take place at the Salem Emily Cemetery.
