Jill Brenna Obituary, Death – The snowflakes are falling softly on the ground, but each of our eyes is filling up with heavy tears at the same time. Another member of our Listen Family who was highly active in Listen Drop-In and a friend to us all has passed away. We are going to miss you so much, Jill Brenna. Jill was taken to the Altru hospital on Tuesday, where she later passed unexpectedly.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to her mother, Candace Skari, her loving family, Lucy Kylm and Sara Jo Mejac and their families, as well as all of Jill’s other friends and relatives who cherished her deeply. Jill participated in Listen/SAS Performing for Change as a member of the group. She was a graduate of the Partners and Policy Making program, a member of the Self Advocacy Solutions ND organization, a presenter at the Emergency Preparedness conference as well as numerous National SABE conferences, she participated in the Disability Pride parade, and she absolutely cherished Listen’s Friday night dances.
In September, she was planning to attend the Act Self Advocacy conference, which was an event that she had previously participated in on multiple occasions. She traveled to Disney World either by herself or with her friend Jack to meet up with Lucy and Sara Jo. We won’t ever forget you, Jill, and we’re going to miss you terribly. I’d like to express my gratitude to you for being so generous, so appreciative, and so eager to try new things and have fun. We adore you forever.
