Billy Mahood Obituary, Death – We are passing on this information of the passing of Billy Mahood, who died away earlier today, with a heavy heart. Billy Mahood passed away earlier today. Billy was a longtime member of the club, and his passing will be mourned by the many people he made throughout his time at Falls and throughout the sport of bowls in general.

Billy will be laid to rest at O’Neill’s Chapel of Rest on Stewartstown Road, and on Monday, the 24th, at 8:30 a.m., he will depart from there to make his way to Our Lady Queen of Peace for the 9:00 Mass. After the funeral, the burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Glenavy. The club blazer and gray pants are required attire for any member attending a funeral. He was the child of Mae and Walter Mahood, who brought him into the world and gave him his name.

Soon after Bill and Sally were married in 1957, in 1973, the couple relocated to Florida. In 1978, he and his father worked together to construct their family house in Brooksville, during which time he also launched a business selling new and used automobiles as well as auto parts. He was a very involved member of the New Testament Baptist Church in Floral City, which was his home church. He was passionate about cars and enjoyed working with wood in his spare time.

He was the kind of person who would go out of his way to assist people and was consistently upbeat and optimistic about life. We shall never forget the warm grin that he always wore. His wife Sally Mahood, his son Jeffrey Mahood, his granddaughter Tiffany McKnight (Raymond), and his great-granddaughter Melia McKnight are among those who carry on his legacy. Additionally, he is survived by his brother Richard Mahood, cousins Raymond Green and Madelyn Offutt, as well as other relatives, acquaintances, and family members that loved him.
