Tamra Zylstra Obituary, Resident of Rockford Has Passed Away - Death Cause

Tamra Zylstra Obituary, Death – She was the daughter of Ronald and Joan Rykert and was born on May 9, 1958 in the city of Lakeview. She attended Chippewa Hills High School and earned her diploma there. In Howard City on the 10th of June in 1978, she tied the knot with Ricky Fay Zylstra. Tammy looked forward to spending time on her Grandma Bessie’s farm as a child, where she could help out with chores and also pick up new skills in the kitchen, on the sewing machine, and with the fishing pole.

She babysat for a number of different families both in Jenison and then in Canadian Lakes, where she grew up. After getting married to Rick, she went to work as a server at Zylstra’s Restaurant, where she worked with her mother and a number of other members of the Zylstra family. She was also employed by Rockford Public Schools as a school bus driver, during which time she gained a large number of acquaintances.

Tamra Joan Zylstra, age 64, of Rockford, was received into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 1, 2023 in Grand Rapids. Joan was a beloved wife; cherished mother; adored grandmother; loyal daughter; and compassionate sister. Joan passed away in Grand Rapids.

near 1989, Susan and Rick located the house of their dreams near Rockford, and they moved their family there. There, on the 100-acre farm, they started a business from the bottom up. She oversaw a number of different businesses while also taking care of her family for more than three decades. She had a passion for engaging in conversation with others and being engrossed in the tales that they shared; as a result, she had no trouble making friends everywhere she went.

Over the years, many of Green Rock’s patrons have developed deep friendships with one another. She and her family would frequently take breaks from their job at their Trout Lake and Hardy Camp estates to participate in activities such as boating, snowmobiling, and camping.
