Peter Verros Obituary , Death – On Monday, June 8, 2020, Peter N. Verros, who was 79 years old and resided in Nestani, Tripolis, Greece, passed away. Verros was the doting father of Joanne, Nick, and Chris Verros and the cherished spouse of Nancy Verros, whose maiden name was Hantzis.
Devoted son of the late Nicholaos and the late Gianoula Verros; dear brother of Nick Verros, the late Eleni (Leo) Vranas, the late Dina (the late Harry) Bellos and the late Georgia (the late Kosta) Smyrniotis; son-in-law of the late Christo and the late Panayiota Hantzis and brother-in-law of Jim (Koula), Andy (Helen) and the late Alexandros Chatzis. A beloved uncle, cousin, and friend to many people both in this country and in Greece.
Peter will be remembered as a true gentleman who loved his wife, took care of his children, prayed to the God he believed in, and worked very hard to provide for his family, all while maintaining a cheerful grin. On the morning of Friday, June 12, 2020, members of the family and friends will gather at The Greek Orthodox Church of St. Demetrios, located at 893 N.
Church Road in Elmhurst, for Visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. and continuing until the start of the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Attendees of the funeral service are REQUIRED to keep a proper social distance from one another and to wear facemasks.
