Mark Lilley Obituary, Death – After waiting another three years, they were married. Later in life, he joined the Woburn Fire Department, where he worked his way up to the rank of Lieutenant until eventually retiring after 23 years of service in 2021. Mark found great satisfaction in tending to his yard and garden as well as lazing around in his pool in his spare time. In addition, he looked forward to visiting York, Maine, with his family. Mark is fondly remembered by his wife, Susan, as well as his children, Joseph M. Lilley and his wife Christa, and Sarah M. Burgoyne and her husband Stephen, all of Woburn. He is also survived by his grandkids, Olivia Lilley, Thomas “T.J.” Lilley, Hannah Burgoyne, and Lucy Burgoyne.
Mark W. Lilley, 67 years old, retired Lieutenant from the Woburn Fire Department, passed away on April 10, 2023, after a valiant struggle against lung cancer. He was a resident of Woburn. Susan F. (Burton) Lilley cherished having him as her husband for the entirety of their 44-year marriage. Mark Lilley was the son of Edward and Mary (Murray) Lilley, who both passed away, and he was born and raised in Winchester.
He completed his high school education at Winchester and graduated with the class of 1974. Following his graduation from high school, Mark began his career as an apprentice electrician. Eventually, he earned his license as a Master Electrician and became the owner of M.W. Lilley Co. for a number of years. Priscilla, who was married to Mark’s brother, set Mark up with the woman he would spend the rest of his life with, Susan Burton, and the two hit it off immediately.
He was the loving brother of Stephen E. Lilley and his wife Judy of Woburn, the late David Lilley and his surviving wife Priscilla Lilley of Woburn, and the late Rosemary Lilley. Stephen E. Lilley and Judy Lilley are Stephen E. Lilley’s children. David Lilley passed away. In addition to this, he is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
