Christian Schimelfenig Obituary, Death – Where she had resided for almost 60 years to Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Prior to this move, Gladys had spent the preceding five years living with Shirley (John) Kuerschner. The final five months of her life were spent at Harrison Home in Cedarburg, where she received care from Heartland Hospice. During this time, she was a patient at the facility.

Through his faith in Jesus Christ, Christian Schimelfenig was granted entrance into eternal life on September 13, 2014. At the time of his passing, he was 102 years old and 10 months old, making his total age 102 years and 10 months. To be closer to her daughter Shirley (John) Kuerschner, Gladys moved from the home in Chaska, Minnesota.

On December 7, 1911, Addie (née Bachman) and Edward Pierson brought their daughter Gladys into the world on the family farm that was located in Laketown Township, Carver County, Minnesota. Addie was the daughter of Bachman. She made a proclamation of trust in Christ at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia, Minnesota, which is located in the state of Minnesota. She participated in the rite of confirmation, which took place at St. John Lutheran Church in Chaska. After graduating from Chaska High School on June 5, 1933, she wed Elford Schimelpfenig and subsequently joined his family. This marked the beginning of her life as a member of his family.

Gladys was a devout Christian woman who cherished her duties as a daughter, wife, mother, and friend in addition to her faith. She was a devoted fan of baseball as well as other sports, and in her spare time, she participated in bowling leagues, card clubs, sewing clubs, and Ladies Aide. She brought up four children: Sandra (Richard) Gjerdahl of Mankato, Minnesota; Shirley (John) Kuerschner of Cedarburg, Wisconsin; Alan (Kimberly) Schimelpfenig of Jackson, Wisconsin; and Karen Amy (Dennis) Johnson of Kimball, Minnesota. All of her children are married to men named Richard. Her children have all found partners in marriage.
