A 2018 gray Hyundai Santa Fe was reported stolen from in front of 217 NW 15th Street at roughly 3:08 in the morning on Saturday, and the Miami Police Department received a call regarding the theft at that time. The owner of the vehicle had been at that place and had left the vehicle running while her daughter, who was 7 years old, and her son, Williams, who was 3 years old were sleeping inside.

According to the report filed by the police, an African-American man who was dressed in dark pants, a red shirt, and a red ball hat entered the vehicle while the children were still inside. Shortly after that, about 3:25 in the morning, the 7-year-old girl was dropped off in the vicinity of NW 6th Avenue and 58th Street, which is where she was found safe and sound and undamaged, according to the police.

In addition to a grid search and the dissemination of a “Be On The Lookout” (BOLO) alert, the situation was escalated to the status of an Amber Alert.
