He joined Sigma Chi only lately and became a member of the fraternity. Additionally, his sister is a student at Cornell.
Matthew Friedman ’26, a first-year student in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, was discovered unresponsive in his residence in Court-Kay-Bauer Hall on Wednesday, April 12, and was later pronounced dead, according to an email written by the Dean of CALS Ben Houlton and the Dean of Students Marla Love that was obtained by The Sun on Thursday afternoon.
Friedman, who is originally from Marlboro, New Jersey, volunteered for the emergency medical service in his hometown before moving to Ithaca this autumn. Prior to making the move, Friedman was looking into ways that he might use his skills as an EMT on the Cornell Campus.
