A brief illness led to Mark Sheehan’s passing today, the band stated in a tweet. “Much loved husband, father, brother, band mate and friend Mark Sheehan passed away today in hospital,” the post read. As a result of the recent tragedy, the family as well as the band have requested that their followers respect their need for privacy. Sheehan, who played guitar in the band, invited his childhood friend Danny O’Donoghue to be the lead singer. Glen Power, who played drums, was the final member of the lineup.

Sheehan and O’Donoghue, who had been friends since they were both 13 years old, had initially traveled to Los Angeles in order to seek employment in the music industry.
