Etienne Verhellen Obituary, Death – As we break the tragic news to Etienne Verhellen’s loved ones and friends that he went away suddenly as a result of a terrible ground accident that occurred with his cherished Yak at his home base in Belgium, we would like to offer our deepest condolences and send our deepest sympathies to all of those who were close to him. During this terrible time, please accept our heartfelt condolences and know that you are in both our thoughts and prayers. We are sorry for your loss.
Flying was the only thing in Etienne’s life that could get him truly excited, so he tried to get in as many flights as he could whenever he got the chance. Even after he had ceased working for the company, he continued to pilot airplanes for the sheer fun of it even though he had resigned from his position as a pilot for British Airways and stopped working for the company. During this time, he was a member of two of the most well-known aerobatic teams in the world, namely the British Yakovlevs and the French YakoTeam. Both squads are regarded as being among the best in the world in their respective categories.
He would take his Yak to airshows all over Europe, where it would frequently inspire and excite tens of thousands of spectators at each event. He would travel the entire continent of Europe with his Yak. As a direct consequence of this, he felt an extraordinary sense of fulfillment and success. During this incomprehensibly trying time, his wife Véronique, his two children, and the rest of his family are in our thoughts and prayers. Our sympathies go out to all of them. Additionally, we are putting the rest of his family in our thoughts and prayers as well.
