Kyle Dorr Obituary, Death – Morris County and the Borough of Wharton are both grieved by the news of Chief Kyle Dorr’s demise. Chief Kyle Dorr served the public with distinction for the County of Morris for 28 years and the Wharton Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter for over 30 years. His death has left both communities in a state of mourning.

At the Morristown Medical Center in the morning of Monday, April 10, 2023, Kyle M. Dorr passed away. He has reached the age of 51. Even though he was born in Dover, Kyle has spent his entire childhood in Wharton. Kyle held all levels at the Morris County Juvenile Detention Center before retiring as Chief in 2023. He served as Chief until his retirement. He had been a member of the Wharton Fire Department, Active Hose Company, for the past 30 years, during which time he had held the position of Chief three times, and he was just just chosen for the year 2023. In addition to that, the State Relief Association honored him with the title of Life Member.

His parents and his brother Bobby had passed away before him. His wife of 21 years, Jennifer O’Malley-Dorr, his daughter Shannon, and his sister Christiana Dorr survive him after his passing. Additionally, the deceased is survived by their nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Fireman’s service will be held at 7 o’clock in the evening at the Bermingham Funeral Home, which is located at 216 South Main Street in Wharton and will be open for visitation from 4 to 8 o’clock in the evening.
