Tim Yergeau Suicide – Officials have stated that inquiries are being conducted on the failed child pornography raid carried out by the municipal police department the previous week at the apartment building occupied by Tim Yergeau, a staff member of the Long Wharf Theatre who was found dead by suicide on Tuesday. “The person who died was definitely the suspect in a child pornography investigation and the person who committed suicide,” New Haven Police Chief Karl Jacobson told Hearst Connecticut Media Group on Wednesday.
“The person who died was definitely the suspect in a child pornography investigation and the person who committed suicide.”A member of the Special Victims Unit who was investigating the child pornography case smashed down the door of Yergeau’s neighbor and handcuffed the lady before realizing they had searched the incorrect apartment. As a result of this incident, the chief has asked for an investigation into the department’s internal affairs to be conducted.Jacobson stated that it was evident that they had knocked on the incorrect door.
According to the head, the probe into internal affairs will also look into how Yergeau ended up killing himself five days after the initial incident.”Unfortunately, there was a mistake made,” stated Jacobson. “Our hearts go out to the woman, and rest assured that we will do everything in our power to make things right.” “The investigation is part of holding my department accountable and transparent,” he added. “The investigation is ongoing.”
Jacobson has stated that he intends to reach out to the woman, but he has refused to acknowledge that Yergeau is the suspect in the investigation into child pornography. On Tuesday morning, however, Yergeau’s neighbor and the state Office of the Chief State Medical Examiner both confirmed that he had passed away. The suicide was ruled to be the cause of Yergeau’s death by the medical examiner. According to the website for the institution, Yergeau was given the position of marketing and communications director at the Long Wharf Theatre in the month of August 2022.
A representative of the theater wrote in an email on Wednesday, “We are shocked and deeply saddened to learn the developments of the last 24 hours,” which was the statement that the representative made. “In light of the troubling information, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.” According to the website for the Long Wharf Theatre, Yergeau’s former employers include Planned Parenthood of Southern New England and the New Haven Free Public Library Foundation, where she was responsible for marketing and strategic communications.
